Colombia Astrid Medina Geisha Washed

A beautifully elegant coffee with a gentle red apple-like fruitiness and cacao-like sweetness. As the cup cools, sweet notes of yellow peach and a delicate floral impression slowly unfold, creating a refined and expressive Geisha experience.
Astrid Medina is a highly respected producer who won first place in the 2015 Colombia Cup of Excellence. Her farm, Finca Buena Vista, is located in Planadas, Tolima, at an altitude of approximately 1,900 meters.
The farm was established in 2005. After the tragic loss of her father in 2006, Astrid inherited a small 3.5-hectare plot of land. She gradually purchased additional plots from her siblings, and today she manages around 15 hectares together with her husband, Raul Antonio Duran.
At Finca Buena Vista, a wide range of varieties are cultivated, including Caturra, Colombia, Castillo, Geisha, and Pink Bourbon.
Only fully ripe cherries are carefully harvested and sorted on selection tables. The cherries are then rested for 24 hours before being depulped, followed by another 24 hours of dry fermentation.
After fermentation, the coffee is washed three times and sorted again through flotation. It is then dried slowly on raised drying beds for 15 to 20 days, allowing the coffee to develop clarity, sweetness, and a refined fruit character.
Astrid reinvests coffee income into fair compensation for her workers and improvements to farm infrastructure. Her work reflects a strong commitment to both quality and sustainability.
