This coffee is made from Pacas grapes grown at the Piedras Amallillas farm, located at an altitude of 1,650m in El Cedral (Santa Bárbara). It has a refreshing, gentle acidity like green apples, layered with a gorgeous aroma, and as it cools, a gentle sweetness reminiscent of dates and milk chocolate emerges.
Its light and clear taste makes it perfect for relaxing in the morning or afternoon. It pairs well with baked goods made with nuts or chocolate, pound cake with dried fruit, or cream-based sweets. The elegant balance of acidity and sweetness enhances the appeal of desserts.
[Production background]
This coffee was produced on a farm run by Mario Moreno and his family. One of six brothers, Mario Moreno inherited the farm from his father, Daniel Moreno, and together with his family, he set up a wet mill and drying equipment, and began full-scale specialty coffee production in 2010.
Since then, all of his batches have been continuously distributed as specialty grade coffee, and their quality has been highly praised both domestically and internationally. This approach, which utilizes the experience of his brother Miguel and his father Daniel, who has been dedicated to coffee for over 50 years, is a strength of the Moreno family as a whole, and by sharing their knowledge and techniques with local producers, they have made a significant contribution to improving the quality of their surroundings. Mario himself is a talented coffee maker, having won the Cup of Excellence five times in the past 10 years.
[Regional characteristics]
The Santa Barbara region is a specialty wine-producing region in Honduras, with a particularly high altitude, a cool, foggy climate, and fertile volcanic soil. The temperature difference between day and night creates a concentrated fruitiness and a delicate balance of acidity, which is what makes this wine so appealing.
This lot combines such a blessed terroir with careful cultivation to produce a wine with a clean and supple flavor.
