TERRA COFFEE ROASTERS' second store is located in a residential area in Shinsenri Higashi, Osaka. Since opening in 2021, this roastery, surrounded by apartment buildings and with a large park nearby, has been highly popular with locals, especially younger generations. In the Hokusetsu area, where light roast coffee is rare, we have cultivated a unique culture. "We have many regular customers, and I think we've been able to create a culture of enjoying light roasts. I hope this culture will spread so that more people can enjoy it at home," says roaster and barista Rensho Fukui, who also serves as a JBC judge.
The shop's name, "Terra," comes from the word "terroir," which describes the growing environment used in winemaking. "We carefully select beans with a strong terroir and a beautiful acidity. Since opening in 2021, we've added beans from Honduras to our lineup, sourcing them directly from local exporters. These are special beans that can only be found here." Fukui likes coffee that makes you want to drink it again as soon as you finish it, and when roasting, he strives to bring out the best in the beans' characteristics while also striving to create coffee that will have you reaching for a second cup.
