About Pedro Rodriguez

Pedro Rodriguez Peñarrieta founded Agricafe in Bolivia in 1986. For many years, he has worked with small-scale producers in Caranavi and South Yungas, sourcing high-quality coffees from the region.

As Bolivia’s coffee production declined due to economic challenges and coffee leaf rust, Pedro began managing his own farms in 2012. Since then, he has focused on improving quality and productivity through careful research in cultivation, processing, and drying.

About Fincas Los Rodriguez

Fincas Los Rodriguez is the collective name for a group of farms operated by the Pedro Rodriguez family. It includes farms such as Las Alasitas and plays an important role in producing high-quality Bolivian coffee.

At around 1,600 meters above sea level, varieties such as Red Caturra, Java, and Geisha are cultivated. The cool climate and wide temperature differences between day and night allow the cherries to mature slowly, creating sweetness, complexity, and depth in the cup.

Processing

Agricafe places strong emphasis on clean cup quality. While most of their coffees are produced using washed processing, natural process lots are made only in limited quantities due to the higher quality risks caused by climate conditions.

This SL28 natural lot is a rare and expressive coffee. It shows juicy fruit notes of blood orange and cherry, a refreshing pink grapefruit-like brightness, and a clean vanilla sweetness that carries through the finish.
